John Sharp Principal

JohnJohn Sharp is a high performance coach facilitator with a wealth of experience. John has facilitated breakthroughs in interpersonal relationships & behaviours and inter-team relationships in some of Australia’s largest companies as well as a number of major overseas organisations. John has particular expertise and insights in bringing people together around a common goal; creating connections. A key feature of John’s style is to explore ‘what is possible’ and build on ‘what is working’, transcending traditional ‘problem solving’.

John has over 40 years experience in industry, including oil and gas and shipping and stevedoring both in Australia and overseas.

John’s facilitative style and interest in personal and organisational change emerged throughout his career. Whilst engaged in the stevedoring industry he facilitated and managed a significant organisational change program which generated extensive behavioural change amongst staff members, improved employee management relations and generated a profit. He was later a lead facilitator on Woodside Energy‘s Performance Leadership program and went on to facilitate similar corporate transformation programs with other major Australian and overseas organisations

He also has extensive experience in designing and facilitating Health & safety initiatives and was instrumental in creating Woodside Energy’s Health, Safety & Environment competence model. He has developed a number of world-class behavioural based training programs to deliver those competences. He also has considerable experience in Industrial Accident Investigation and has worked as a consultant in this area with companies around the world including Shell, Petronas, Anglo Gold, Basel Chemicals, New Zealand Refining Company, Woodside Energy, Sinclair Knight Merz, John Holland & Mermaid Marine.

John’s management, industry background and experience provide a genuine appreciation of our clients’ issues. As well as the roles outlined above, John’s last management assignment in the oil and gas industry was at the BP Hides Gasfield in Papua New Guinea where he was the Joint Operations Manager for BP and also the client representative in the commissioning and handover phase of this E.P.C.M. contract with then Kinhill Holdings (now KBR). After that, John played a significant role in the implementation phase of the Transfield-Worley /Woodside Energy Alliance at Woodside’s Karratha Gas Plant.
